I’m Brian and this is my site/blog, built by hand and meant to be shared on the decentralized internet, specifically the Dat Protocol network. I’m a software developer and live in the United States. All the opinions and comments on this site will be my own. I would like to post about my real life self, and things that I’m interested in, such as my dog or growing Redwoods and Giant Sequoias in New England. Expect to find my thoughts on whatever comes to mind.
One of the reasons that I decided to make the distributed web my hosting platform, was I really feel that it’s important for individuals to be able to directly add to the web without being filtered through commercial based products. Part of that is having control over my own content, so some of the things I want to share I don’t want to just give to others to monetize.
For the nerds: this site was built using jekyll static site-generator, and the theme I’ve used is the Basic Basically theme by Michael Rose. Jekyll uses Ruby together with Bundle to generate static HTML sites from templated files using markdown syntax. I made this blog site in about an hour while watching the 2018 World Cup, although admittedly this is my second try at a jekyll based site.
